Description

Among the well-established caster wheel brands is Office Oasis. Rollerblade wheels are first introduced by the brand for office chairs; they have grown exponentially since then.

Stainless steel brackets support the weight of 650 pounds on their caster wheels. This caster is extremely durable and robust due to its high-strength ABS core.

They have universal stems that fit 98% of chairs with a diameter of 7/16″ and a length of 7/8″.  Heavy-duty steel axles with precision ball bearings make rolling easy and smooth. By applying less force to your chair, you can move it smoothly on any surface.

What happens if you use a heavy-duty caster wheel on your carpet? Polyurethane wheels from Office Oasis are safe for your carpet and won’t leave any scratches. Installing these caster wheels is easy with Office Oasis; just two steps are required. The wheels can be replaced without any instruments other than your hands.

    Can’t recommend these.

Very disappointing. Bearings are sloppy and after just a couple of months of use on hardwood floors the rubber part of the wheel is starting to break down. The sloppy wheel bearings result in the rubber part of the wheel rubbing on the side supports – and squeaking. Can’t recommend these.

Took longer to write this review than to install the wheels!

The set of five wheels comes in a compact, attractive package with easy-to-follow instructions and plenty of contact information for the sellers if you’re confused or dissatisfied, and the wheels themselves seem sturdy. Installation of all wheels on a 10+ year old Herman Miller Aeron took less than 30 seconds and the chair now looks great and rolls smoothly. (Note that they lift the chair approximately one inch above the height of the stock wheels – not an issue for an average-height woman, but it is something to be aware of.) I am using the wheels on a low-pile carpet and will likely not purchase a floor mat due to how well these are rolling, which was my intention as I don’t like the look and feel of most floor mats. Highly recommended!

Don’t put any weight on them!

The axle is way off center with respect to the pin. Try to roll with weightand the resulting sideways force will bend the frame. The wheels need tobe much smaller and wider. Also axle needs to be repositioned so it ismore inline with the pin. The way the are now they are pretty muchjunk for anything but the lightest loads. With that said the seller is top of the line. I explained the problem andgot a full refund – – EXCELLENT SELLER!

I purchased these casters to replace the absolute trash that came with my chair. The ones I had would bite into the mat I have and bunch it up all crappy-like.First, let me say these are the smoothest wheels I’ve ever had on a chair. They are silent, and very slick.Cons:OMG do these roll. Should have gotten the ones with locks for sure.I now know which way my floor tilts (towards the door lol).If you aren’t careful sitting down a tiny bump with your leg might send this thing flying and then you just pulled out your own chair. Hope nobody saw.I gave this an overall 4/5 because I’ve nearly killed myself, other than that, A+

    So far, so good

I swapped the wheels a few days ago so this is a preliminary review but so far I have no complaints. I have the Aeron chair and since my chair map cracked beyond repair, I have been using my chair on the carpet. For anyone with the Aeron, they know that the center pneumatic cylinder is very close to the ground and anything besides hard floor or very low pile carpets, the cylinder will rub and drag and that was my issue. So I bought these. As you can see in my picture, it does raise the chair a noticeable amount which is what I was hoping form. Because I went from a 2 wheel per caster to one, each wheel digs in the carpet a bit more than prior and leaves lines in the carpet (hence removing one star) but at least now i don’t have to worry about the chair actually screwing up the carpet. Over all I am pleased with this product and if anyone would care to remind me in the future, I can always give an update later.

They work as described, completely silent on my word floor and smooth as glass

They work as described, completely silent on my word floor and smooth as glass when rolling. I do however have one concern. I installed them in a gaming-style chair that has a high back and a higher center of mass than typical office chairs. I typically sit in the chair in it’s highest setting. I should also note that I am a “big guy” at 6’2″, 275. When I roll forward and then have to lean forward, I can feel that the rear wheels actually tip up and leave the ground. This did not happen with the stock wheels that originally came with the chair. I will update my review after a few weeks of use. I do like the wheels, as they are definitely smoother and are protecting my floor, but they might not be suitable for this particular chair model.

These wheels have given new life to my favorite chair.

I’m so freaking happy with these wheels. I have an old chair from the mid-2000s that I love. I’ve tried replacing it twice, but I keep going back to this chair. My home office has a carpet that doesn’t cover all of the hardwood floor – and with three desks arranged in a U shape (I work in IT), I wanted to be able to scoot between them. The wheels that came with the chair required a lot of effort, so I started looking into plastic chair mats. Due to the irregular shape of how the desks are arranged, I was going to have to buy multiple mats. I had previously owned a chair mat that I wasn’t impressed with, and the reviews for chair mats ranged from terrible to mediocre. These wheels are fantastic. They were trivial to install, and make it very easy to move around my office. They’re great on both the rug and the hardwood floor. Best of all, they’re cheaper than the plastic chair mats I was resigned to buying.

The Office Oasis Original Rollerblade Chair Wheels

Soon as these arrived, had them replace my old, plastic wheels on my chair. First thing I noticed was build quality is excellent. Has a little weight to them and increases chair height by an inch or so, which was the only reason I bought them. My arm wrest would sit a little lower than the surface of my table even at the highest point of the chair’s height, but with these wheels on it’s perfect! I spend most of my time on my computer when I get home from work, so my wrist and arm would get uncomfortable fast with the arm wrests lower than my table surface. Then moving the chair back and forth, breeze! much easier, but not easy enough to have the chair move around while i’m sitting on it. I have my chair sitting on top of a rubbermat 1/4″ thick and it rolls with ease!

Awesome wheels! Even more awesome customer support!

I bought a full set of these wheels back in 2017. I was in awe of how good these wheels were on my hardwood floors. I completely forgot to leave a review though, and now it is 5 years later. One of the wheels was going bad. I normally would take the wheels off and clean them every year just to keep them moving smoothly, but one of the wheel bearings was half popping out and the wheel was rubbing on the metal frame. I couldn’t get this to loosen up and I couldn’t fix it.I sent an email in to take advantage of the lifetime warranty. I was skeptical they would even respond to me 5 years later, but they did. They sent me a brand new set of 5 wheels after seeing the photos of the bad wheel and a copy of my order receipt. I am incredibly impressed.Do not hesitate! Buy these wheels if you are interested. You will not regret it.

I was really reluctant to put a plastic matt over the beautiful new hardwood so when I saw these ( and …

We had just had our floors refinished as I had literally destroyed the finish with the hard plastic wheels of my Herman Miller Aeron chair. I was really reluctant to put a plastic matt over the beautiful new hardwood so when I saw these ( and all the great reviews) I was excited. Suffice to say these are the real deal. They are fantastic quality ( and I’m someone who really cares about that) and I would recommend them to anyone.

No More Damage to My Lovely Hardwood Floors!

The media could not be loaded.

These caster wheels are wonderful. The stock casters of my computer desk were making ugly marks in my newly-refinished 110-year-old pine floors. But once I found these heavy duty wheels and put them on the chair (super easy!) they don’t leave any kind of mark whatsoever. I know that there were some negative reviews where people were complaining that the ball bearings let go but after reading some more similar reviews I THINK it might be because these were heavier folks. I’m just 165 lbs (11.8 stone) and I can’t imagine them giving out on me. Time will tell, and if they do I’ll update my review to reflect that change of opinion. As for now, these wheels are fabulous, quiet, and don’t damage my hardwood floors.

1 year 3 months of ownership

So for the first year these wheels were perfect. I have a really nice chair that I spent a lot of money on , I replaced the wheels and it only got better. It was very smooth to roll around change direction and nothing gets caught up in the wheels anymore, hair, etc. After a year though, I started noticing the legs of my chair bending and making it hard to push in and out of my desk. Because of the design of the wheels the offset is so far off to one side, it puts a lot of pressure to rotate the legs as you can see by the picture. Also by another picture of a reviewer that only left one star. While it lasted only a year for me your mileage may vary. Once this is done it doesn’t stop and it’s just a weakness in the plastic of the legs of my chair to the point where as soon as I sit down I’m leaning off to one side whichever has the weak leg.I am only giving this 3 stars as it was a great quality of life improvement temporarily, it dis not last. Because of this I have to buy a new stronger reinforced metal bottom part for the chair to hold the wheels.

Lasted about a year before blowing out bearing

I’ve had these for almost two years, however, about a year ago the first wheel blew out and I had little ball bearings on the floor and the wheel is cockeyed. Since i don’t need to move the chair more than a foot or two when sitting, I’ve just gotten accustomed to picking up the chair by the arms and sliding forward.Sick of picking up my chair and sliding in or out of the desk, I am on Amazon today searching for a replacement and these popped up as the ones I purchased. I felt that I should at least give a review stating that one wheel failed after about a year. I’ll be looking for a different set of wheels and hope they will be more “Heavy Duty” than these. When new, they glided over the carpet, effortlessly.

OMG major change up worth the cost!!

I really did not have any expectations until I started to ‘roll’ around a bit. Once that started, I realized my chair was too big to roll out into the rest of the house. But I did make that happen (chair was too big before the change up). It was just a joy to roll around with the ease of rollerblading, really. Also the wheels don’t get fouled up because my old wheels had that ‘cover’ over the wheels and stuff always got stuck in between like my jackets or bags with handles. Easy peasy to install on my chair. Just slip the old ones off and new ones in.

Smooth-rolling, quality wheels. A couple of caveats, though.

These wheels seem to be very well made. They’re heavy. That’s mainly due to the thick steel armature and the general quality feel of the materials. They roll very smoothly and swivel much more easily than standard cheap plastic wheels. Though I have a hardwood floor, I can imagine that due to their diameter they’d roll nicely on carpet. They’re a tremendous upgrade from your average chair wheels.Due to their quality and being perfectly as-described, I’ve given them 5 stars. But I’ll be returning them due to 2 issues that are specific to my situation. But they may also prove to be issues for you, so I figured I’d make note:- Maybe it’s just me, but nowhere in the description do I see the height of the wheels mentioned. I bought these along with a new chair. The manufacturer-supplied wheels added 2″ to the overall height; These add a hair over 3.5″. Keep that in mind before purchasing, because in my case they made the chair too high, even at its minimum adjustment.- As I said, they roll very smoothly. Too smoothly, if your floor isn’t level. Mine is not, but only by a small margin. Rather humorously, the chair would have a tendency to drift away from my desk if I took my feet off the floor. Needless to say it would also escape when I got up. In that regard the high-friction cheap wheels are better.

DO NOT WORK with Herman Miller Aeron Office Chairs

I installed these (The Office Oasis Original Rollerblade Chair Wheels, Set of 5, Universal Fit) on a brand new, Herman Miller “Aeron” office Chair. For the first two days, the wheels worked beautifully. My chair glided effortlessly across my hard wood floors. On the third day, I noticed that my chair would come to a sudden halt and emitted a high pitched squeal. Tiny pieces, shavings of metal laid on the floor in front of my desk. These new wheels were scoring the bottom of my new Herman Miller chair. Folks, these wheels indeed may work well with many other brands and models. Know however, that they are NOT compatible with the Herman Miller “Aeron” office Chairs.I ended up returning this item, and Amazon has confirmed that I will be receiving a full refund, PLUS an extra 10%, in my case, an additional $7.39 for an order of two sets of these wheels. This is unprecedented. I have never heard of such an excellent warranty. The Office Oasis retailer quickly and efficiently accepted my return request and sprang into action. Great customer service. This particular product (The Office Oasis Original Rollerblade Chair Wheels, Set of 5, Universal Fit) is simply incompatible with my chair. I hope this helps the Amazon community.

    Almost Too “Rolly”

These casters have good ball bearings, firm rubber wheels that roll almost too easily on a hardwood floor, and they are easy to install. They do make your chair a little taller (which can be adjusted with the normal height adjustment of the chair). I’m an average size guy and weigh 186 lbs. I’ve noticed that my casters squeak slightly when I change direction.I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep them or revert to the casters that came with the chair. These look like they will be easier on my wood floor, but they do roll too easily and the chair sometimes moves when you don’t want it to. Jury is still out.

Rolling Along with the New Wheels!

These made such a difference for my chair!Y chair didn’t roll as well as it used to.I think the original wheels of the chair were for carpet???, but over time, they stopped rolling so well.I also think thread and hair probably got stuck as well – after all, it is my sewing and office area. I cleaned them out regularly, but what a pain.We have flooring over cement floors, do it needed to have wheels that could turn. These are so wonderful and they roll do much better than I could ever have expected! To remove the old ones, I had to put the chair on it’s side. Since it’s on wheels, that is a task. Then, you need to take a hold of the old wheel, and pull it off.It takes just a bit of strength to pull it off.To put the new ones in, you push the stem into the hole, then make sure it is in all the way. When you turn the chair back upright, you need to make sure it doesn’t roll around as you right it.Super easy!

Quite and Smooth, but watch out if you have long hair

Update January 2020: After a year with these rollers, I can say that you should clean them from time to time with a seam ripper or small pair of scissors. They don’t clog nearly as bad as other rollers—I don’t usually tell they’re clogged until I look down. Keep them well greased and cleaning will be just as easy as rolling!Arrived promptly and without issue.I replaced a set of old clogged plastic rollers and hoped that these would be a little easier to maintain. Immediately they were better than the old ones, though giving a bit of a boost in height. The rubber used in these is quiet and rolls very well, tracking little to no dirt. Installing these wheels was quick and easy as well, just pop the old ones out and the new ones in.One thing I have noticed, however, is that the wheels pick up long hair pretty easily (the pictures show the wheels after I did a quick clean, though you can still see some hair, apologies). I’ve considered pulling the wheels apart at to clean them more effectively, but so far just pulling away any piled up hair has worked well– although a slightly greasy prospect, given the lube on the wheel itself. I also would be unsure of deconstructing them. Thankfully they haven’t slowed any, but I’ll update this entry if anything does happen.

    Maybe a Little Too Rolly

So guess who found out their floor isn’t completely level? This guy.So yeah, they’re very quite, smooth, only creaking on the wooden floor where the wood is weak. The instillation was easy for half of the procedure, as removing the OG casters was like pulling teeth. They were stuck in there good, and let me tell you, boy do they take some elbow grease to remove when they’re like that. Installing the casters was simple though, so good on that.I am finding that I will have to get use to the wobbly-ness, provided by the fact these castes are 1/4 the width of the OG ones. Sure they held me up sitting in the chair no issue and I can roll around no problem, but when sitting still, even a slight movement leads to this feeling that the chair is wobbling. (and I’m someone who tends to fidget)And while not a problem intended by the super smoothness of the casters, the fact they roll like butter on a hot summers day means the uneven flooring I now know I have leads to my chair rolling into the desk unless I keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.

Fast, quiet, and does not leave marks on the floor

After moving into a home with an office that had wood floors, I not only replaced my office chair – but also the standard casters that came with it. Initially, I was concerned that these kinds of wheels would leave marks that you could see when the light hits the floor at a certain angle. I have been using the chair with for several hours daily over the past few months and finally feel comfortable leaving a review based on real-world, everyday use. They were extremely easy to install and I did so without ever putting the wheels that came with my chair on. They solidly clicked into the base of the chair without too much effort. I did not have to strain or bang on them with a hemmer to get them in…they just fit. They look great, they started off clear but the outer edges eventually dull with the dirt and dust from the floor. This is to be expected and they can be easily cleaned (which should be done occasionally anyway). They really do remind me of rollerblade wheels. They are super quiet (no audible noise) and do not scratch the floor at all. Initially, I was concerned that they would leave marks that were only visible in certain light from rubbing off onto the floor. That did not happen. They glide smoothly and allow me to move the chair quickly and easily. They turn with no effort and have not had any issues turning the right way.I can honestly say that I am extremely pleased with how these perform while protecting my floor. I have included a picture of the floor (with and without the angle of light would show marks) where my chair sits most of the time and you can see for yourself that there are no scratches, marks, or issues of any kind. I am glad I went with these instead of a floor mat that would change the look of the room and limit where I could go.Pros:FastQuietProtects the floorDoes not leave marks of any kindFits on standard chair wheel baseCons:Occasionally need to be cleaned, but not a big deal at all

These wheels voided my warranty and destroyed my chair.

I invested in a high-end chair. When I saw these wheels, I considered them an upgrade. They absolutely seemed to be an improvement over the wheels that came with the chair. I thought since I invested in a high-end chair that I should also invest in high-end wheels. I didn’t realize they would void the warranty. I didn’t even consider that they would break the chair.Yet, here we are. One of the wheels must have knocked into something at some point and got slightly sideways. Once one of the wheels was slightly sideways, my weight was no longer distributed evenly and it caused other wheels to move slightly sideways. Over the last five months I didn’t even notice anything was wrong until one of the legs became fatigued enough that it bent when I shifted my weight with the wheel in just the right position.I think one of the big problems is that the wheel drags behind the mount point on each leg. So the wheels aren’t actually underneath the legs. Basically, these wheels were not made to support the weight that the chair was made to support? I don’t know, but it’s a mess and I’m very unhappy. I cannot return these wheels because I cannot get them out of the chair base. The company who made the chair won’t send me a new piece under warranty because I modified their chair with aftermarket parts.I’ve had many chairs over my life and I’ve never destroyed one like this. Never. Normally I replace them after YEARS of wear in which I have felt that they have held up well. This one lasted five months because of these wheels. I have never put aftermarket wheels on a chair before, and I never will again.

Several Updates to this review, newest at bottom

I bought these Office Chair Caster Wheels (Set of 5) – Heavy Duty & Safe for All Floors Including Hardwood – Perfect Replacement for Desk Floor Mat – Rollerblade Style w/Universal Fit.I bought them on October 30, 2018! I was attracted by how heavy duty these were advertised to be. AND, that they are supposed to be the strongest ones sold on Amazon!!! They are advertised as able to handle 650 lbs. for a set of 5 of them. So, I was totally not worried about my 175 lb. weight.I happily installed them on my office chair, which is used on a tile floor 5 days a week. I was able to enjoy using them for just shy of 2 years, then BANG!Today, Sept. 25, 2020, one of the wheels broke with a loud bang! Bearing balls and black grease shot all over the tile floor and scared the crap out of me. I was in the process of rolling back from my desk at work when it happened.Upon inspection, it appears that where the bearing case is pressed together, the pressing came apart so the bearings somehow shot out. It is a good thing this happened on a tile floor so it was not too difficult to clean up the grease spots or find all the lose bearing balls.Up until this happened, I was very happy with the function of the wheels. Now, I am without my comfortable office chair until I get a new set of wheels, which is very annoying!I do have to laugh at the statement in this ad; “CASTERS YOU CAN KEEP FOR LIFE”, because apparently that only means for the “LIFE” of the castors, which in my case was less than 2 years!UPDATE 10/11/2020:The seller sent me a replacement per their great guarantee! They also said the have made some changes with the design to strengthen the wheels.I have just installed the replacements and so far, 5 days in, these seem to be working pretty well, but I do feel a bit of a hitching up occasionally as I roll my chair. For most of the year, I normally use my office chair directly on a ceramic tiled floor. But this year, for fall and Winter, I have put down a large, thin, non-padded, extremely low pile, indoor/outdoor floor/door mat at my desk to try to help keep my feet from getting so cold from that hard, ceramic tile floor.I am noticing that these wheels seem to have a bit of difficulty when maneuvering my chair on the very thin floor mat.I truly think that this style of wheel is ONLY good for use directly on hard floors! I will see how well this new set will last.At least the seller has a great guarantee and reached out by commenting on my review. They were very polite and helpful, once I figured out how to contact them back.

Wheel snapped and I came to complain but they made it 30 months with 400#s

Bought these with a chair made for large men. The one rated for 400#s. Bought a second set for chair and wheels for home and both have been excellent. Last Saturday I ended up on the floor when I went right and the wheel stuck sideways in the thick carpet and snapped dropping me. Came to complain and realized it’s need 2.5 yrs under daily use. So um .. yea, 5 stars and I’ll ask about that lifetime warranty :)Update: quick email off the website and I have a new set of wheels coming in a few days. Rarely do you find a product that lives up to its hype and has a company backing it equally greatc but Office Oasis rocks. Now I need to check out their other products!

    Reluctantly impressed

I was not sold on these wheels, at all. I simply bought them because I was desperate to add some height to my chair for ergonomic reasons, and the extra 3/4” height this set provided over my old ones was enough to make me purchase. that said, you will now have to pry these from my cold dead hands. They are SILENT and glide like a dream. They do add height, you wouldn’t think less than an inch would be noticeable but it absolutely is for ergonomics purposes. If you have slanty floors, you will find that your chair silently and creepily gravitate towards the lowest point in the room, sometimes sneaking up on your. Sentience aside, these are awesome and I’m going to use these in every chair like product I buy moving forward.

    WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I think the headline neatly sums it up. These install easily, and they roll easily. And because of the slight increase in diameter over standard office wheels, they work fine on carpet, which is where I’m using them, because apartments are the worst thing ever. But I digress.Even on carpets, I can scoot around on these easily. And a quick roll-test on vinyl that was done entirely for scientific reasons and not because I just wanted to go WHEEEEE across my kitchen shows they work great on those floors too.

Works well but dangerously sharp edges

This product does what it says, and generally works fabulously well, but the edges of the caster-cups are dangerously sharp! I’ve had a nice slice of the back of my heel peeled painfully (and bloodily!) off when I wore bare feet to work around this chair, which will glide right over your heels and slice a piece of skin off!! And since there are 5 wheels, you’ve got to be on the look-out!! Be warned.Updated Sep 2022 – with Pic – sliced again! No blood this time. The metal carriage of the casters is normally hidden under the mounting shroud, but when you reverse the direction of the chair (as in, when you are pushed in too far to your desk and push yourself back out) the caster rotates, exposing the way-too-sharp back metal edge of the caster. As you are frequently pushing with your feet or heels, these collide frequently, followed by much swearing…and this update!

BUY THESE!! Finally found the best ones…

I have bought like 4 or 5 sets of wheels in the span of a year. Different brands every time. They all work great at first, perhaps for the first month. Maybe it’s the grout on our tile floor that does it, but after a month or two the wheels start feeling stuck. The chair doesn’t move quite as well, and you start finding tiny ball bearing, uhm, balls all over the place. The grout being the issue is just a theory. Whatever it is, they all fail, and I had to replace them. That is, until I bought these. It’s been months now. The price is a little higher than the average price of all the other ones, but they claim to be the originals, so I thought mayyyybe they’d be better. THEY WERE AND STILL ARE! The chair glides smooth as butter. No ball-bearing issues. I don’t expect them to last forever, but I guarantee these are the ones you want. You get what you pay for.

    The best!!

I bought a set when I started an office job and fell in love with them. When Covid hit I had to set up a home office and bought a second set for that. Now I bought another set for my daughters chair. These are a thousand times better than the wheels that come the chairs, they are almost completely silent, and the roll on my wood, tile, and carpet. I am slowly pushing my company to outfit all of the office chairs with them. They are worth the money. I have read some of the other reviews saying the wheels are weak and break easy but my fat butt has been using them for over a year now 16 hours a day 6 days a week and they still roll like they just came out of the box.

Update: I was so pleased with these wheels when I first put them on that I left a 5 star review. Now that they’ve been a while, I wish I could leave 0 stars. The design has a huge flaw. At first I loved how tall the wheels were, but I wish I had noticed that the stem that you insert into the chair legs isn’t directly over the axle. This angle plus that added height make a perfect lever to twist the legs of a chair.Check out the pic of the wheels with my chair being empty. The wheels are almost sideways and the legs of the chair have been torqued so much that they are irreversibly bent. I thought these $36 wheels fixed my $180 chair, but they actually ruined it for good. They fit perfectly. They are way way way sturdier than the junk wheels that came on my chair. They roll so smooth and are so quiet too. I’ve had around 350# in the chair at one time before and the wheels rolled smooth. These things saved me $150 by not replacing my drafting chair…can’t beat that deal!!!!

NO DO NOT BUY – Excellent Replacement – Should be Standard on Aeron Chair

Review Update – In less than six months (3) of the (5) bearings on the casters have failed. They have fallen out of the assembly and littered my floor. The casters now have compromised the integrity of the chair base inserts and made the fittings compromised. I am very disappointed with this product. I also ordered the gas piston replacement for my Aeron chair. I never got to install in it as it was too difficult to hammer out the old piston. I just got out of the hospital from major chemo. I would reconsider your choice of replacement parts. I am not looking for anything for free. I am of the belief that if you buy it with the owners’ endorsement there should be no problem. Not so. Now I have a $1200 chair with broken wheels and broken inserts in the base of the chair. Not good.Product/delivery/support is the best. This set of casters should be the standard for the Aeron Chair.Casters glide on any type of floor and are very stable. Customer service and follow up are the best!Thank you for helping my sad chair.

Impressed With The Product, Even More With The Company Behind It

I would rate these a five, but one of them failed on me (see photo). They’re smooth and far superior to the garbage casters that come with most office chairs. I was using these on a chair mat, so don’t understand the fail, but I guess anything that can happen, will, at some point.I’d recommend them, but right now, I can’t sit in my chair because of them.EDIT: Wanted to edit my original review. I was contacted very quickly by the company and offered a full replacement set of casters, even though only one was defective. I am super impressed with the level of customer service I’ve received and I would, without hesitation, recommend these casters to anyone. My original 4-star review is now a 5-star.

A surprisingly good upgrade for your Aeron chair

These inline-skate-style urethane casters replace the stock casters on your Aeron chair — or pretty much any other quality office chair with 7/16″ × 7/8″ caster stems. “Not a big deal,” you think. “Why would I want to do that?”Well, it turns out to be a rather bigger deal than you’d think. These casters roll more smoothly, with less resistance, over more different surfaces than the original hard plastic casters do. They’re quieter on hard surfaces, and they don’t snag shoelaces and the like so readily. They also add about an inch of height to your chair, a valuable boost if you’re a long-legged sort for whom standard office chairs just aren’t QUITE tall enough for optimal comfort. The casters are well made, and very solid. The 650lb load a set of five is rated for is probably more than your chair is rated for, so you needn’t have any fears of them breaking. They go in pretty easily with no tools required. Two thumbs up. Don’t go hog-wild with your newly-rewheeled chair, now…UPDATE January 2021:After about two years of use, these casters started binding and squeaking loudly. It appears ALL of the bearings have both become loose AND lost whatever grease they originally had. I would probably consider this reasonable on a set of inline skates that I’d used every day for two years. On an office chair, that’s probably moved as far in its life as the average inline skater could skate in a day, it is completely unreasonable.I am downgrading my rating from five stars to two. This is NOT acceptable.

    Rolling on carpets!

I fitted this in my secret lab omega gaming chair and it works great. They fit easily, firmly. My chair wasn’t able to roll easily on my carpet on the factory castors as they are smaller and had two wheels on each. But the oasis castors, being bigger and perhaps better bearings(the bearings are visible too maybe to ease the process of relubricating), they help my chair to roll a lot easier on my carpet which is what I wanted. They increase the overall height by maybe half or an inch but no other significant impact or change. The quality of the product seems good and may last a while. I’m happy with the purchase.

Very smooth rolling except when moving in another direction

The wheels arrived today, took longer than expected to get here along with 4 other orders. The install was not as easy as I was expecting. I had to hammer them into the chair legs with a small hammer. The other problem seems to be the inability of the wheels to turn when seated. When the chair was upside down during installation, they spun and turn around very easily, but when seated, you can roll fine as long as you do not try to twist the wheel within its housing. They seem to hang up when moving at an angle or any move that requires the wheels to turn within their housing. Otherwise when moving forward a few inches, it is very easy and smooth. They look good and appear to be sturdy. I use a glass mat and tried them on a plastic mat, very hard to make side movements on the plastic map, but on my new glass mat, it does better.

Watch your feet!!! These pinch HARD!!!

These are easy to install, roll really well and are very sturdy.BUT… Do NOT go without shoes when sitting in a chair with these casters. There a 2 pinch points, on in front and one behind the bracket at the top of the wheel when installed… and due to the grippy rubber wheels they grab your feet and pinch it hard if you roll while your feet are touching a wheel! I have bruises! My gf caught her toe in it! nearly broke it off!If you’re like me and you sometimes put your feet on your wheels or the base of the chair, make sure you wear shoes when using these casters.I ordered some covered casters just for safety. These are good, feel nice to roll on, but grip the rug and pull it a bit and defo not for clumsy people like us.

    Perfect for the office!

Bought some for an employee’s chair because one of her standard wheels stopped turning. We decided to try these wheels and were very impressed at how smooth they rolled. They are truly like roller blade wheels, smooth and fast! My granddaughter loves rolling across our showroom like it’s a race car! So we decided to order the same wheels for our other 3 office chairs. They save on wear for your floors, ours are cement and were starting to wear with the plastic wheels but these roll so smoothly that they aren’t noisy and don’t get eaten up by the original plastic wheels that came with the chairs. We’ve only had them for a little while but I would definitely recommend them for anyone, in fact I’m about to order a 5th set for my office chair at home!
